IMMACULATE CONCEPTION SCHOOL ADVISORY COUNCIL (SAC)
The Bishop of Nashville requires a School Advisory Council (SAC, formerly School Board) be established for each Catholic School in the Diocese. The Pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish appoints parishioners to the Immaculate Conception School SAC, who serve in an advisory capacity for matters pertaining to the School and Pre-School.
The SAC meets monthly on the first Wednesday, unless that day is a holiday. Special meetings may be called as needed. SAC members are also invited to attend special events at the School and Pre-school. Current students and their families are represented on the SAC by the President of the Home and School Association; therefore, no family members of current students are eligible to apply. QUALIFICATIONS SAC members should be registered and practicing members of Immaculate Conception Parish; at least 21-years-old; willing to give time and energy to the advancement of the mission of Catholic schools; and whose professional and personal life is reflective of the teachings of the Catholic Church. A majority of the members will be Catholic. No member of the SAC may be a regular employee, or the spouse of an employee of Immaculate Conception Parish or School. APPLICATION PROCESS Applicants will submit a letter to the Pastor and School Principal detailing your interest in the position and any additional pertinent information. Once selected, the Pastor appoints the new member to serve a regular term of three years. On occasion, members may serve additional terms.
